Minted just officially launched their Art Prints today! I’m happy to add several prints to their collection. A few of my designs were actually featured at the launch party which was held last night at Mariam’s (ceo of Minted) home in San Fransisco. You can view a tour of the launch here. I think I squealed when I saw that my Fiesta Turtleneck illustration was featured super big. I’m so honored.
I really love this pattern from my new letterpress line! (It’s a part of a set of new letterpressed envelope liners that I’m debuting next weekend at the National Stationery Show.) It’s perfectly bold, yet delicate….and perfect for a new scarf. I’m hoping to have this little neck scarf sewn up in time for the NSS. The fabric was printed by Spoonflower.

Pretty packs of letterpress cards! It’s been such a joy to actually finish all these designs I’ve had in my head for a long time. Today I’m working on my catalog and trying to finish up lots of odds and ends for the show. I got the last few of my pre-show mailers sent out today. I’ll try to post pics of those soon. There is so much to do, but I’m trying to stop often and praise the Lord for the amazing job I have. Sometimes when you get busy you can forget to be thankful.

Another composition today. This one is actually me just playing around with shapes I was already running through the press. (The washi tape finishes it off.) I’m off to go do some die-cutting…my first time actually. I’ll let you know how it goes. Happy Friday!
I hope these bring your eyes much joy. I actually created these little watercolor compositions for Minted’s latest art print challenge but completely forgot that the deadline was today (and not Wednesday). I’ve been so busy lately that my schedule is a bit off. Enjoy!
In case you haven’t heard, my new website is finally finished. I worked on it with the amazing studio, Aeolidia, based out of Seattle. I just sent the PSDs of my pages, and Zoe coded the site to perfection. They work amazingly fast and have exceptional service and project management. I’m so so happy with the finished result. Can’t wait to start adding products to the shop!
I finally finished Shepard’s journal! (You can see Ev’s finished journal here.) Ev’s was a little sweeter…this one kinda says, “leader, wise big brother,” to me.
Today is Taco’s birthday! Abby (a.k.a. Taco) and I formed a lot of our friendship years ago over Mexican dates at O’Malley McGee’s in Ames. (Isn’t that why we call eachother, Taco, Abby?) So….the obvious “card” to send to Abby this year was a felt taco. The “shell” is just two pieces of felt sewn into a hard-shell shape, and filled with felt taco “fillings”. I used a glassine bag, baker’s twine, and a printed sticker to package her taco. I love you Abby!!!

This is just a sneak peak of just one of the many designs I’ve been working on for my National Stationery Show launch. I’ve been crazy busy lately, but have somehow been at peace with everything, even though the show is two months away. That might be because I have a new printing assistant (who doubles as my mother-in-law)! She has started helping me print on Thursdays. It’s been fun teaching her on the press.
In addition to lots of new designs and a new online shop, I’m working with Aeolidia on a shiny new website and blog. I’ve loved working with Cargo (website) and Tumblr (blog), but it will be nice to have something a bit more functional and professional looking. Can’t wait to show you all these little projects in late May!
