Finally! The canvas I had been working on for church is finished. I like how it turned out. I know with painting something this huge, I probably could’ve spent another two days refining it and getting every detail perfect. (It was hard to stop working!) But alas, I need to start on other projects. Up next, a CD package design to help fund African adoptions and a dear friend’s...
I printed these birth announcements last weekend for my dear nephew Ralph. He’s absolutely darling and I had hoped to make announcements to match. These were printed on 100% cotton paper with a welcoming gray linen envelope. A 5x7 photo was mailed along with Ralph’s announcement.
I’m super inspired by Dana Tanamachi. Dana works at Louise Fili, but her expertise is specifically in chalk-lettering and she creates these completely impressive chalk installations for a variety of clients. Be sure to check out the time-lapse videos…so cool. As I’ve been working on this canvas lettering (see yesterday’s post), I’ve thought of her work today....
Things have been quite busy in the studio, mainly with a couple branding projects, a billboard design, and a letterpress birth announcement, which I hope to share this week. I’m also working on a canvas for our church. It’s a very fun combo of collage and acrylic paint. Here are some progress shots!
I created this simple stationery last weekend with lead type. I love being able to instantly hand-set a design with lead, rather than waiting for a plate to arrive. I don’t think I would ever be able to get rid of my little lead type collection.
I thought I would share an album art submission I did a while ago for a band called Anthem. Anthem is a worship band based out of Cornerstone Church in Ames, Iowa. While my artwork wasn’t selected for the final album, I had a blast coming up with a concept for the project.
Happy 4th everyone! Hope everyone has a lovely day.
