I really love Banquet Workshop’s collection of bold prints. I first saw them at the NSS (their booth was one of my very favorites) and I’ve had my eye on their red bear print ever since. I’m pretty sure we’ll be purchasing one for our children’s room.

A little hand-lettered letterpress for your Friday! These were a set of simple birth announcements for little Liam Eagles. The couple sent these around Christmas time, so we included a Christmas greeting on the envelope flap. Have a lovely weekend!

I’m excited to share a fun project I worked on last month for the lovely (and super creative) Nicole Balch of Making it Lovely. She redesigned her blog and asked me to create some floral illustrations for her header. I love Nicole’s mix of pattern and florals with the glittery logo. Be sure to check out her new gold foil business cards that she made for Alt as well.

I’m happy to share our Christmas cards that were mailed to family and friends this year. I decided since we had some special news to share with everybody (we’re adopting!!) we would do a more text-heavy mini-booklet. The covers were letterpressed with red ink and the booklets were bound with a sewing machine. I made sure to leave some space to write a personal message to...

Somehow I answered a craigslist ad and bought a letterpress in the same week! We are happy to be owners of a 10x15 Kluge Automatic letterpress. This baby feeds paper so I don’t have to, and looks sweet while doing it. It was quite easy (what?!) to move home thanks to dear friends (Casey & RJ) and my amazing husband. (Moving our Chandler & Price wasn’t quite so...

This is the first of a few of my submissions for Minted’s Art Print Challenge. It’s the first challenge of this kind (that breaks out of stationery design), so it’s been a blast to pull together some entries. I put together an inspiration board for this entry that includes some favorites from my pinterest boards. Enjoy! clockwise left to right: 1. Farm House Table here. 2....

I found a new antique shop to visit in Boone, Iowa this weekend. I purchased several children’s books to add to my little collection, and this was one of my favorite finds. I love the blend of bright tones with the neutral tan of the cover.

Mondays are always a challenge for me. After a slower-paced weekend (I still work on the weekends), I feel my weekend pace remains until late Monday afternoon. (No surprise, this quote comes from the movie, Office Space.)

CLA #2: edge-painting: I’m constantly humbled by the two huge pieces of iron that live in my basement, and I’d like to start documenting certain things i’m learning in the printing world, so I’m doing this little segment called crazy letterpress adventures (CLA). The photos above are my first attempts at edge-painting. Edge-painting is a challenging technique for a couple of reasons: 1....

I’m giving away some letterpress monogram stationery over on my facebook page! The giveaway ends Wednesday. (Some blind debossed faux bois may or may not be involved…) I did want to mention: The amazing ribbon that is featured in my announcement image is from Angela Liguori at Studio Carta. She has the BEST ribbon and really elegant stationery. I purchased some more ribbon for...

I adore the November Crewcuts catalog! They feature the best little outfits (and color combos) in a farm setting. The bright colors work so well with the muted backgrounds. You can take a peak here.

I’ve told my husband I would complete the logo for Gleason Farms (the farm business we own with his Dad and brother) for a long time. Lucky for them, I had some time yesterday to finish it up. The first application for this logo will be onto our grain truck that we use to haul corn, soybeans or livestock. We are in the middle of harvest right now, which is a super fun time of year. I end...

I was asked to share one of my favorite dinner recipes: Thai Curry Soup by Abby Stern (my super awesome sister-in-law). It’s beyond delicious and is served over rice. So perfect for a chilly fall evening. You can download a printable recipe card here. (Image Credit) I love this fold out poster design for Thai Airways by Lab Partners.

My new calendars just launched recently at Shutterfly! I felt completely relieved that they asked me to create some floral calendars for them, because I could draw flowers every day for the rest of my life and be a happy woman. I have one wall calendar and two desk calendars. Over the next couple weeks, I’ll be sharing some of the holiday cards I have available this coming season.

Sending a card to somebody on their birthday is of utmost importance to me…i try to never miss a great opportunity to send a note to brighten somebody’s day. I will never tire of this color OR of browsing antique shops for little lovely things. Today I’m sharing my growing collection of teal things! I think the silver pair of scissors (where the teal is slightly chipping away) is my favorite item. Yesterday I browsed a couple antique shops in Des Moines and found some some really cool stuff. (All displayed in the last photo.) Enjoy!
